I have a Zeiss KF-2 binocular microscope for sale. (Technical details can be found at the end of this listing.) This microscope is set up for brightfield and phase contrast, and is capable of darkfield with the addition of one accessory.

The microscope has magnifications of 40, 125, 500, and 1250.
I purchased it in Germany in 1986. It has four objectives. One is phase-contrast 40X, another is oil-immersion 100X. The two eyepieces are each 10x. The binocular assembly provides an additional magnification of 1.25x. The microscope has hardly been used, and is in excellent condition.
The original 220VAC power supply was removed, and a 12VDC supply installed instead, for use at a remote location. This modified power supply (mounted in the base of the microscope) can be powered by a small 110VAC-to-12VDC transformer.
Also included are the centering eyepiece for the phase contrast, a cleaning kit, a dissecting kit, a plastic covering cloth, and a Zeiss carry-case. This carry-case is also original equipment. It is in good condition, but the little steel latches on the outside are slightly rusted, and they do not always make positive closure. They should be replaced. This latter is the only flaw in the system.
The microscope is standard Zeiss construction (grey baked enamel on metal), and looks brand new. I will guarantee its excellence. If you wish to make an offer, I can provide additional information, along with pictures via email.

The actual magnifications achieved are found by multiplying the eyepiece magnification (10x) by the binocular assembly magnification (1.25x) by the objective magnification. For the four objectives included, this gives the following powers:

500x (phase contrast)
125x
40x

(The KF-2 is darkfield-capable, but I do not have the necessary darkfield condenser rocker. You may order it from Zeiss, part # (46 52 15). I do not know the exact cost of this item, but it is probably inexpensive).
1 - 12 VDC cable with cigarette-lighter plug, for 12 volt operation. (Alternatively, you may plug the unit into a standard plug-in 110VAC-to-12VDC converter, which you can purchase at your local electronics store. Or you may install a standard 110VAC Zeiss power supply in the base. This supply is Zeiss part # (3925 75 - 9002)).
